CHURCH STELLENBOSCH 2020
Chenin Blanc - The wine evokes a sense of familiarity. Chenin Blanc is known for its pure expression of place, and this wine unleashes a sense of Joie de vivre with crunchy fruit aromas. Sun-kissed Stellenbosch fruit promises an exciting palate with vivid aromas of young apricots and baked lemon toned with mellow notes of citrus blossom, lemongrass and thyme.
The wine follows through with a crackling acidity that suits its exuberant nature, wrapped up with a fresh, savoury finish.

Sunkissed Stellenbosch fruit delivers a memorable wine
It is always exciting to compare Chenin Blanc's expressions from different terrains. The diversity of the South African Winelands compelled Harry Hartman to show two Chenins from two sought after Chenin territories. This Stellenbosch Chenin has been a favourite, with its medium body and smooth finish
The Stellenbosch Chenin is a pale lemon colour, indicative of its youth, with oak playing a supporting role by looking at the colour, following South Africa's trademark for refined Chenin Blancs that hero’s fruit.
There is an inviting luminosity to this wine, somewhat stelly and mineral, with a lemongrass pungency. Slightly more herbaceously toned with more sanguine fruit, mellow notes of baked lemon, citrus blossom and fresh thyme reins you in. Served at somewhat coller temperature than expected will unleash a sense of joie de vivre captured in a display of crunchy Granny Smith apples, young apricots and green figs.
The palate is perky with a note of old-fashioned lemon drop candy. Ripe lemon and greengage indicate youth with a crackling acidity hat suits its ebullient nature, trailed with hints of thyme and oregano. Though lean in essence, a lively, almost salty acidity persists with a medium-plus finish.
